This was one of the processes we went through to try and make the wings,
Melt the wax, I got some candles from Tiger to melt.
Push the angel figure I have into the sand to make the shape of the wings
Pour the wax into the wings shape
Wait for it to cool down fully, left it over night.
Remove from the sand, easily and very badly attempt to cut around the wing shape, but don’t break the wings the way that I did….
In other words a waste of time, but at least I tried it!
I also tried to cover some feathers in wax, which worked really well!
However, when it came to taking pictures of them, there was no way that i could put them which looked interested, and they also just would not melt… I felt very underwhelmed by the outcome.
My final attempt was to cover my little angel figurine in liquid latex to create a mold, so I painted on several layers of latex and it did create a good mold! However the wax melted the latex and it went everywhere… At this point, I decided to change this idea as it was stressing me out so much!!!!! I am so glad I am not doing it anymore!!
